The Sussexes Set to Start Their Own Foundation

Recently news ‘broke’ that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be parting ways with the Royal Foundation. The Sussexes will, therefore, start their own charitable foundation. In just over a year of their marriage, the Sussexes have taken the world by storm. They have worked unremittingly and robustly with their charities. The duo is known as being hardworking and valuable to their charities. Even their fans, known as the SussexSquad has raised thousands for charities. With the global fundraisers #GlobalSussexBabyShower and #HappyFathersDayPrinceHarry, the fan base chooses to focus on the positive side of royal watching.

Duchess Meghan has always taken on a hands-on approach to her work. As she stated prior to becoming royalty: “I don’t want to just show up somewhere and wave my hand and feel like that’s enough. If I’m going to have my name attached to it, I’m going to do and get really hands on.” Watch the full clip and quote below.

From Duchess Meghan’s four Patronages to her charity cookbook, “Together” she has been there to see them through.

Prince Harry has had a long history with charity work as a royal. Starting charities such as Sentebale with Prince Seeiso and Heads Together with the Cambridge’s. Not to mention creating the Invictus Games. Recently, the Sussexes and the Cambridge formed shout!. It was modeled after the American charity, Crisis Text Line.

Prince Harry and Prince William started the Royal Foundation originally in 2009 prior to either of their marriages. As the two got older and married it only made cogent sense to go there own ways. Both brothers are on different paths and have different passions as do their wives. The two brothers attended a board meeting on Wednesday for further discussion and to finalize the change. The Cambridge’s will take the control of the Royal Foundation (renamed the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge). The Sussex’s will start anew, with a yet to be tilted foundation. Funds previously raised for the Royal Foundation will remain within the organization, according to Harper Bazaar.

In the coming months, both Harry and Meghan (still on maternity leave, allegedly through the fall), will work with their team and receive support from the Royal Foundation during the transition. Prince Harry’s mental health documentary series with Oprah appears to still be set for release on Apple TV+ in 2020. The foursome will still work closely on Heads Together and shout! which appear to still remain under the Royal Foundation.

The Sussexes together have a shared focus on enriching and empowering women, children, LGBTQI+, those living with mental health issues and military veterans. This move is one that is logical and enterprising. It will help them to create their own path and literally build their own foundation from the ground up. The sky is the limit and this is only the beginning of an era where their legacy will be paved.
